概要

平和経営学研究センターは，紛争や対立を前提としない“平和”をベースとして，持続可能なシステム，デザイン，マネジメントへの実践的な学びを提供し，「社会共通の価値（コモンズ価値）」を共創する実践的なマネジメントやビジネスを構築することによって，学生自らが課題解決策を考え，行動に移すための教育プログラムの共同開発を行っています。
研究者のみならず，多様な価値（人材・目標）を重視する経営者の参加を加え，平和学と経営学を融合した平和経営学の樹立を行う目的としています。

設立趣旨

HBMSではMBA教育プログラムの刷新と卓越化を図るべく，社会システムおよび，それを取り巻く多様な環境変化に適応し，マネタイズ（収益化）を主眼としたこれまでのMBAではなく，貨幣価値に換算されにくい対象を研究するという新しいMBAのイノベーションを追求し，グローバルな関係構築を推進していると同時に，地域に根ざし，地域に貢献するための広島発の経営学を教育プログラムに導入しています。

一方，国連平和大学(UPEACE)は1980年の国際連合総会決議に基づき，コスタリカ，首都サン・ホセに設立された。コスタリカは軍隊を保有せず，非武装・中立を貫き，再生可能エネルギー100％に取り組む環境先進国として注目をされている。これまでの紛争解決を目的とした平和学から，気候変動や環境に適応する参加型マネジメント，ＩＴ（情報技術），先端技術を用いたグローカルビジネスなどの具体的な課題解決策をめぐる教育を強化しており，この点でUPEACEとHBMSは教育の目指す方向性・目的が一致している。

こうした背景により，UPEACEと共同研究を行うためのプロジェクトセンター「平和経営学研究所」を本学に設置し，平和を阻害する資源をコモンズとしてサスティナブルに維持，発展，管理するために経営学的手法を導入し，解決策を導くための研究，教育とその実践を行っています。

研究内容

平和学と経営学を融合した新しい研究領域を設定し，自然資源マネジメント，アグリ・フードシステム，マーケティング，そのほか文化人類学の視点から，ダイバーシティと相互理解を促進するフィールドワークやグローバルエデュケーションの手法を取り入れ，平和経営学の基礎研究を推進していく。

② ソーシャルイノベーション研究（調和型社会，コミュニティビジネス，社会技術）
③ ピースマーケティング研究（マーケティング・サスティナビリティデザイン等）
④ 持続可能な環境ビジネス（中小企業・環境技術・SDGs,ESG経営等）
⑤ フィールドワークデザイン（文化人類学による調査手法の開発・実習型教育，グローバルエデュケーションなど）

Overview of the Institute

The Institute of Business and Management for Peace provides practical learning for sustainable systems, design, and management based on "PEACE," which is not based on conflict and confrontation.
We are jointly developing educational programs that enable students to actively seeking solutions to problems and put them into action by building practical management and businesses that co-create “common values of society”

Our goal is to establish a Peace Management Studies that integrates peace studies and business management, with the participation not only of researchers but also of business managers who attach great importance to diverse values such as human resources and goals.

Purpose of Establishment

HBMS aims to reform and make our MBA education program prominent by adapting to social systems and the diverse environmental changes surrounding them. As part of that, we shifted our main target of research from monetization, which conventional MBA programs focus on, to objects that are not easily converted into monetary values and promote global relationships. At the same time, we are introducing management studies originating in Hiroshima to our educational programs in order to be rooted in and contribute to the local community.

On the other hand, United Nations University for Peace (UPEACE) was established in Costa Rica, capital San José, in accordance with a 1980 United Nations General Assembly resolution. Costa Rica is attracting attention as an environmentally advanced country that is demilitarized, neutral and committed to 100% renewable energy. UPEACE and HBMS have been strengthening education in problem-solving measures, such as participatory management for adaptation to climate change and the environment, information technology, and glocal business using cutting-edge technology, in addition to peace studies aimed at conflict resolution. In this respect, UPEACE and HBMS share the same educational direction and objectives.

Therefore, the Institute of Business and Management for Peace, a project center for joint research with UPEACE, has been established at HBMS to conduct research, education and put them into practice to propose solutions by introducing research method of business management so that we can sustain, advance and manage resources that hinder peace as a commons.

Research Contents

We establish a new research field that integrates peace studies and business administration, and promote basic research in Peace Management Studies by incorporating methods of fieldwork and global education that promote diversity and mutual understanding from the perspectives of natural resource management, agri-food systems, marketing, and anthropology.
